We are an enthusiastic group of Park View patients who, working in partnership with practice staff, want to try to improve the healthcare provided by our practice.
We meet regularly to discuss matters and arrive at decisions through consensus. The meetings are informal and good-humoured with everyone working together on behalf of the patients and staff of the practice. The notes of the meetings can be collected from reception.
We usually meet at the surgery quarterly but communicate regularly. The meetings normally last about 1.5 hours.
We are always looking for new members to join and if you feel passionately about improving the healthcare of fellow Park View patients, then why not join us?
What have we done?
In the last year we have been involved in helping the practice identify problems with and upgrade the telephone system.
We have started monthly “Cuppa and Chat” sessions to help patients who are lonely or socially isolated to meet others. It’s also an opportunity to meet members of the group, find out more about the group and make suggestions.
We have recently been involved in gathering information to help the practice review the appointment system, and hopefully make changes that will improve access to clinical staff.
